The concert performance of Carl Orff's scenic cantata Carmina Burana at Hall 1 of Sofia’s National Palace of Culture congress centre on Monday evening marked the beginning of a new cultural collaboration between Bulgaria, Greece, and North Macedonia. Maestro Nayden Todorov emphasized that the event was a significant celebration and voiced hope that the audience shared this sentiment. He noted that the initiative, launched with his colleagues from Greece and North Macedonia, aimed to demonstrate that regional cooperation can achieve remarkable results.

The performance brought together the Sofia Philharmonic, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, Greece, and Bulgaria’s National Philharmonic Choir.

The soloists included soprano Ana Durlovski (North Macedonia), countertenor Nicholas Spanos (Greece), and baritone Ivo Yordanov (Bulgaria), with each of their performances receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience.

The concert is part of Maestro Todorov's initiative to unite the cultural potential of the Balkans, his team said.

Among the officials presenting flowers at the event were Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov, National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova, President Rumen Radev, Vice President Iliana Iotova, and Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev.
