An exhibition of 17 graphic works by Bulgarian artist Ivan Ninov will open on January 23 at Vejdi Art Gallery. The exposition shows 17 of the most characteristic works of the famous author, created in different periods, the hosts of the event say.
"Black and white, and a little colour. That's all a great artist needs from our best graphic artists. A man whose whole life has passed through these two fields of the dark and the light, and always a little bit of colour stolen so that he too can participate in the colourfulness of the world. One cannot speak of Ivan for long, he was always black and white and very strong. One of the very great Bulgarian artists!" says Vejdi Rashidov. In his words, Ivan Ninov has his own reserved place in contemporary Bulgarian art.
"He has won prestigious prizes and awards at our and foreign forums and competitions. His works are owned by famous galleries, museums and private collections. Ivan Ninov creates drawings - chalk, tempera and engravings with etching, drypoint, lithography and photolithography techniques," Rashidov noted.
