The Bulgarian Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of the Entry of the Theotokos and the Day of the Christian Family on November 21.

Christian Family Day

By a decision of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in 1929, the feast of the Entry of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bulgaria is celebrated as the Day of the Christian Family and of the Orthodox Christian Student Youth. According to the original concept it was a day for Christianization, for communion with Christ and His Church. The day was non-educational and began with a holy liturgy at which the students received communion. On this day, many families would visit the temple together and participate in the holy liturgy, receiving communion in the Body and Blood of Christ.

Concerts and festive events - book presentations and talks - will be held across the country on the occasion, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church said.
