The Academia Gallery will display watercolour portraits by Kiril Bozhkov on the occasion of his 60th anniversary. This is Bozhkov's first exhibition of watercolour works entirely and will be on between May 15 and 31, the National Academy of Art said.

The underlying theme is the portrait. Among the works one can find the image of the artist's mother, which has become known internationally, portraits of his wife and portraits of art models, the gallery's team said.

According to the organizers, Kiril Bozhkov is a master of the watercolour, professor at the National Academy of Art and holds a PhD in art studies.Member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. In the past ten years he has received many awards from international watercolour forums in Italy, Spain, Japan, Bolivia, Korea, Mexico, and Costa Rica. In 2016 he was recognized for his contribution to the world art of watercolour during the International WATERcolour&SPIRIT Triennial in Varna.
