site.bta Vidin Sinfonietta to Perform Concerts in Vidin, Sofia, Stara Zagora

Beginning on April 24, the Vidin Sinfonietta will give three consecutive classical concerts in Vidin, Sofia and Stara Zagora, Sinfonietta Director Miroslav Krastev told a news conference here on Tuesday.

Krastev noted that the audience will be able to enjoy the performances of Anelia Gospodinova on the piano, Evgenia Ralcheva as soprano and Boyko Tzvetanov as tenor, while Maestro Petar Dimitrov will stand at the conductor's desk. The programme will include arias by Puccini, Verdi and Mascani, as well as Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 1, added Krastev. "This is a challenge for musicians, because Rachmaninov's work is performed less often, but it is extremely beautiful music," he noted.

"For us, this concert is an extreme experience in many ways", said Maestro Dimitrov. He noted that Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 1 is rarely performed not only in Bulgaria but also around the world, because it is quite a difficult task both for pianists and for the orchestra. He also added that Boyko Tzvetanov is one of the greatest Bulgarian tenors and that it is a real pleasure to have a performer of such rank participate in the concerts, alongside Evgenia Ralcheva. 

Gospodinova noted that by expanding its repertoire with new works the Vidin Sinfonietta shows a lot of enthusiasm, desire and significant investment. She thanked Sinfonietta Director Krastev and Maestro Dimitrov for making these concerts possible. "I would say that the concerts are at a very high European level and are worthy of many other big stages," said Gospodinova.
