site.btaSofia University Library Presents Einstein's Universe Exhibition
The St. Kliment Ohridski University Library presents an exhibition dedicated to the 145th birth anniversary of renowned physicist Albert Einstein, the University press centre announced here on Wednesday.
Editions of Einstein's works owned by the University Library in Bulgarian and foreign languages, publications of his contributions to science and memoirs about him are on display in the lobby of the Central University Library. The exhibition also shows Einstein's relationship with Bulgarian academic lectures and artists.
A copy of the first self-published edition of The Foundation of General Theory of Relativity from 1916 can be seen in one of the central display cases.
In addition to his achievements in theoretical physics, Einstein is known as a convinced pacifist, a participant in the fight against fascism and Nazism and a fighter for civil rights. The exhibition shows these aspects of Einstein's work- through photographs and short texts.
The exhibition will be on display until May 10, 2024. It is organized within the traditional Days of Culture in May at Sofia University.
