Bulgarian writers Georgi Gospodinov and Kapka Kassabova will be among the guests at Literatures of the World: Fable 2024, a festival which will be held in Ljubljana between March 1 and 19, the Bulgarian Embassy in Slovenia writes on its Facebook page.

Gospodinov, whose novel "Time Shelter", translated into English by Angela Rodel, won the 2023 International Booker Prize, will meet with readers at the Cankarjev Dom, a cultural centre in the Slovene capital, on March 19 at 8 p.m. local time. The discussion will focus on memory, history and a person's own story as components of an individual's identity.

Gospodinov will be returning to Slovenia a year and a half after the Slovene translation of "Time Shelter" was published. His previous visits involved participation in two other literature festivals.

Kapka Kassabova's book "Border" will be press-launched at the same venue, Cankarjev Dom in Ljubljana, on March 16 at 8 p.m. The Bulgarian-born author lives and works in Scotland.

Admission to the meetings is free. Tickets can be obtained at no charge at the box office or the internet site of Cankarjev Dom.
