The conditions for tourism in the mountains on Saturday are poor, said the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) of the Bulgarian Red Cross. Hurricane-force winds and fog will be present in the high parts of the mountains.

In the areas above 1,800 metres above sea level, there is snow cover with drifts. The temperatures are very low, 10C, and with the hurricane-force wind it would feels like -20, said MRS.

The lift facilities in most resorts are not working due to maintenance.

There have been no incidents with tourists in the mountains over the past 24 hours, the MRS reported.
