site.btaBulgaria, Vietnam Sign Bilateral Documents on Cooperation Across Multiple Areas
Bulgaria and Vietnam signed bilateral cooperation documents across several fields on Friday. At the ceremony held at the Council of Ministers, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, attended and held a meeting followed by talks between their respective plenary delegations.
A Letter of Intent was signed between Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defence and Bulgaria’s Ministry of Defence to broaden military cooperation. On the Bulgarian side the signatory was Deputy Defence Minister Radostin Iliev, and on the Vietnamese side – Defence Minister Phan Van Giang.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Bulgaria’s Ministry of Interior and Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security for cooperation in cybersecurity and combating high-tech and cybercrime. The Bulgarian signatory was Interior Minister Daniel Mitov, and on the Vietnamese side Luong Tam Quang, Public Security Minister.
The foreign ministers of both countries – Georg Georgiev (Bulgaria) and Le Hoai Trung (Vietnam) – exchanged an Amendment to the Agreement between the Government of Bulgaria and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and service passports.
A Memorandum of Understanding on digital cooperation was signed between Bulgaria’s Minister of Electronic Government Valentin Mundrov and Vietnam’s Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung.
A Memorandum of Understanding on labour and social policy cooperation was signed between Bulgaria’s Minister of Labour and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov and Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Public Security Truong Hai Long.
An Annex to the Agreement on scientific cooperation between the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) for 2027–2029 was signed by BAS Deputy Chair Prof. Emmanuel Moutafov and VAST Standing Vice President Prof. Dr. Tran Hong Thai.
A Memorandum of Understanding on friendship and cooperation was signed between the Regional Administration in Pernik, Bulgaria and the People’s Committee of Phu Tho Province, Vietnam, signed by Pernik Governor Lyudmil Veselinov and Provincial Party Secretary Truong Quoc Huy.
