site.btaPM Zhelyazkov to Attend Official Ceremony in Burgas

Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will visit Burgas and attend an official ceremony on the occasion of the completion of the REBIRTH28 project for the construction of a new deep-water shipping berth at Terminal West, BMF Port Burgas at 2:30 p.m., the government press service said. 

The project started in March 2023 and a grant agreement was signed for its implementation under the Connecting Europe Facility, Transport Sector - 2021.

The new area of the shipping berth will provide for the handling and storage of containerised cargo and, following the rehabilitation of the railway tracks, intermodal solutions for the movement of cargo with a minimum amount of harmful emissions will also be provided on the territory of the port, BMF Port Burgas said in March 2023.

The new shipping venue will expand Bulgaria's capabilities in terms of receiving cargo from Asia to the European Union countries along the Orient/East-West corridor, the port operator added.
