On Great and Holy Friday the Orthodox Church commemorates the death of Christ on the Cross.  Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniil celebrated the services of the worship and Burial of the Cross at the Sofia St. Nedelya cathedral church on Friday.

Good Friday of Holy Week is the most sorrowful day for Christians, when they remember the suffering, the judgment, the crucifixion, the death and burial of Jesus Christ. Good Friday is also a day of strict fast.

The sacred services of the Royal Hours and the Vespers of the Deposition were celebrated at  churches and monasteries across the country on Friday.
