Thirteen people were detained in Sofia during a specialized police operation targeting illegal migration and the prevention of crimes committed by or against foreign nationals, the Ministry of Interior reported.
The operation took place on April 16 and 17 in the central part of the capital. A total of 41 locations were inspected, including hostels, shops, restaurants, hair salons, and other establishments, along with more than 330 individuals.
Among those detained were four individuals—three men and one woman—who were wanted nationwide, and six others for illegal residence in the country. Additionally, three men were detained for drug possession.
During a previous operation conducted by the Sofia Police in early February, 119 individuals were checked, along with 18 commercial establishments and 14 vehicles. That operation led to the identification of two people wanted nationally and the detention of two others—one for theft and one for possession of drugs.
