site.btaVP Iotova Praises Medical University Sofia for Providing Quality Education
Vice President Iliana Iotova, who spoke at the ceremony to celebrate research and teaching at Medical University Sofia (MU-Sofia) here on Monday, said that the University is the oldest and most prestigious medical university in Bulgaria, with high European and world reputation. This is not only because of the diploma recognized throughout Europe but also thanks to the highly qualified lecturers, experts at national and international level, who give students invaluable knowledge, she added.
MU-Sofia's celebration falls on the same day as World Health Day.
Iotova said: "The Medical University gives the opportunity for scientific work and research, even in the process of training. What [could be] greater motivation than the chance to work with world-class doctors and researchers? I would like to congratulate you on establishing schools, on training young people who are grateful to you."
The Vice President was hopeful, as 74% of the University's graduates a month ago plan to continue their professional path in Bulgaria. She praised Bulgarian healthcare for being one of the best in the world. She concluded that healthcare is an element of national security, which is why it needs to be backed by a stable policy.
