Bulgaria's acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov is paying a working visit to Spain, the Prosecution Service said in a press release on Monday. The visit is taking place in accordance with a memorandum of cooperation and understanding between the Bulgarian Prosecution Service and the Spanish State Attorney General's Office, signed in February during State Attorney General Alvaro Garcia Ortiz' visit to Bulgaria.

Meeting now in Madrid, Sarafov and Garcia Ortiz discussed the planned training of Bulgarian prosecutors and investigators. They spoke about an upcoming trip of Spanish lecturers to Bulgaria in May to lead a training course on collecting electronic evidence.

Sarafov stressed the need to enhance the expertise of Bulgarian magistrates in countering cybercrime, transborder organized crime and money laundering, which can be done by using the rich practical experience of Spanish prosecutors.

Sarafov and Garcia Ortiz acknowledged the high level of cooperation between the Bulgarian and the Spanish prosecution services, including in joint investigations.
