The National Association of Mayoralty Mayors in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMM) will begin training its members, said Deputy Chair and Momchilovtsi Mayor Siika Surkova at a general meeting of the association in Stara Zagora on Tuesday.
The training will be on current topics directly related to the work. Surkova added that mayors of mayoralties will also start a dialogue with parliamentary committees and government ministries on legislative changes concerning small settlements and the lives of people in them.
According to NAMM, there should be changes to the regulations on local self-governments and local administrations, public finance, as well as the protection of agricultural property. "We are currently developing and maintaining correspondence on specific changes to several laws that are to be submitted to the National Assembly," Surkova noted.
The NAMM general meeting was attended by nearly 200 mayors and deputy mayors of mayoralties across Bulgaria.
