National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova met with the Mayor of Samokov Municipality, Angel Dzhorgov, on the eve of the 112th anniversary of the Battle of Bulair on Friday, the Samokov Municipality said in a press release on Saturday. The two officials discussed various topics, including local healthcare, tourism, and education.
Dzhorgov emphasized the importance of investing in state hospitals, which serve as key institutions for municipalities, providing essential healthcare services to citizens. He noted that Samokov Municipality and the Multi-profile Hospital for Active Treatment in Samokov have a strong partnership, ensuring a relatively high standard of healthcare compared to most municipalities, the press release further said.
The meeting also addressed the condition of the road connecting Sofia and Samokov. Dzhorgov highlighted that this section is of crucial importance, with thousands of people traveling on it daily, the municipality told BTA.
On Friday, Kiselova attended the marking of the 112th anniversary of the Battle of Bulair in the town of Samokov. In 1913, the Bulgarian 7th Rila Division, though outnumbered, repelled an Ottoman attack at Bulair in what was then the Ottoman Empire.
