Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB MP) Lena Borislavova said in a Facebook post that she appeared at the Sofia's Interior Ministry Directorate on Friday to be charged after voluntarily waiving her immunity.

The Sofia District Prosecutor's Office said earlier in the day that a person with the initials L.B. has been brought to criminal liability for the knowingly presenting documents with forged signatures in the period between May 13 2021 and May 14 2021. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated and the case is about to be reported to a supervising prosecutor.

"I will fully cooperate with the judicial authorities. I have nothing to hide. Nor anything to worry about. Because I have not committed a crime. But it will take me time to prove it in court," Borislavova commented.

"I kept my word and filed a declaration of waiver of immunity," said Borislavova at the end of January. A request for lifting her immunity was made after a supervising prosecutor from the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office that there was sufficient evidence collected during the pre-trial proceedings to hold her criminally liable for a document crime.
