The digital transformation of public administration and municipalities, aimed at paperless data and service delivery, is a key element for improving the efficiency, transparency and accessibility of public services, said Minister of e-Government Valentin Mundrov at a meeting with the Executive Director of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB) Silvia Georgieva, the ministry's press centre reported.

The Minister of e-Government also discussed with the representatives of the association the draft law amending and supplementing the Cybersecurity Act, which has been drafted in line with the European directive on measures for a high common level of cyber security in the European Union. He stated that the Ministry will fully cooperate with the NAMRB on this topic as well, with a focus on supporting smaller municipalities so that there is no imbalance in cyber resilience in the country.

Mundrov promised that his ministry will support local government representatives by conducting training for municipal employees to increase their digital literacy and familiarize them with new digital tools and processes. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Executive Director of NAMRB Teodora Dacheva, Head of Local Policies and Finance Team Daniela Ushatova and Head of Strategic Development of Municipalities Team Yana Docheva.

In December, Valentin Mundrov, who was then a caretaker minister, announced that he had started building a national cyber security architecture in Bulgaria for administrative bodies and public service operators.
