President Rumen Radev and his wife Desislava Radeva will attend the traditional Bulgarian Christmas fundraising gala concert on Christmas Day, the press office of the head of State said on Wednesday. 

The Bulgarian Christmas, held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, aims to encourage donation, help solve significant problems for society, concerning children's health, and support the treatment of children, reads the initiative's website.

The twenty-second annual edition of the initiative, will aim to to provide high-tech equipment for early diagnosis and modern treatment.

The event will feature a concert which will take place at the Ivan Vazov National Theatre at 8 pm on Christmas Day, and and will be broadcast live on bTV, bTV Radio and the Bulgarian National Radio.

Prominent Bulgarian musical performers will support the charity campaign in aid of children in need with their participation in the concert. The performance will feature beloved Bulgarian songs accompanied by the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Georgi Miltiyadov, and performed by Edelina Kaneva and Kristina Kokorska, Vesselin Marinov, Nikola Todorov, Lazar Kisyov and Kristina Ivanova, Dicho, Teddy Katzarova, Roberta Ballet, Destiny Quartet, Ruslan Maynov, the Bulgarian National Radio Children's Choir conducted by Venetsia Karamanova, Gergana Karapanova and the Saglasie Ballet Studio, Belcanto Quartet, Bon-Bon Children's Vocal Group, National School of Dance Art, LaTiDa, Fida Trio, Elya Todorova, The Five Seasons, Efemia Fard'с Ballet from the First English Language School, Tenori d'Amore, Koцeto-Kalki, Martina Tabakova, Teodor Georgiev and the Medicus Band. 

This year's Christmas charity show will be hosted by Petya Dikova and Ruslan Maynov.

President Rumen Radev announced the start of the 22nd edition of the Bulgarian Christmas on December 2. "Bulgarian Christmas is not an ordinary donation initiative, but a cause that unites more and more people. It also gives us the strength to believe in the future, because we invest in the most valuable capital, the health of our children," said President Rumen Radev in a greeting to partners and donors of the initiative. Radev also said at the time that a total of BGN 3,230,000 was collected for the initiative in 2023, and 590 children received support for diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation.
