Bulgarian Olympic Committee Chair Stefka Kostadinova was awarded a prestigious recognition in the Inspiration category of the Glamour Magazine Bulgaria 2024 Women of the Year Awards 2024 ceremony, which took place on Saturday evening at the Central Military Club. 

The award has been presented for more than 30 years and honours women from around the world who change the rules of the game, break glass ceilings and pave paths, extraordinary and inspiring women with significant achievements in the fields of art, show business, sports , science, medicine and politics.

Worldwide recipients of the Glamour Inspiration award include Madonna, Victoria Beckham, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, Malala Yousafzai, Barbra Streisand, Simone Biles, Serena Williams and others. In this country, the award is presented for the third consecutive year, with the recipients in 2022 being the the national rhythmic gymnastics ensemble (Simona Dyankova, Stefani Kiryakova, Madlen Radukanova, Laura Traets, Erika Zafirova) and the actress Maria Bakalova in 2023.

Stefka Kostadinova is a former athlete. Her world record of 2.09 metres in the high jump  stood since 1987 until being broken by Yaroslava Mahuchikh in 2024.
