BSP - United Left top-of-the-list candidate in Varna Borislav Gutsanov addressed his followers on social networks as part of the party's pre-election campaign.

Gutsanov said that the main topic of the party is health care and noted that even though everyone talks about the justice system, nobody talks about the injustices in the health care system. "According to the Constitution it should be free, but is it really free in life? Are there any of us who have gone to the hospital and not paid extra", asked Gutsanov. 

He emphasised that the main point will be to remove state and municipal hospitals from their status of commercial companies and to ensure that resources from the health fund do not go to private hospitals at the expense of state-owned hospitals. 

Gutsanov pointed out that there used to be a doctor's office in every village, but now there are no healthcare facilities even in entire municipalities, let alone villages. "We are for the preservation and restoration of medical facilities in remote areas and the introduction of a "protected medical facility" status for them, as well as at least one 24-hour pharmacy in every municipality", he said.

He also emphasised the need for a suspension of the so-called medicinal tourism, where Bulgarians are forced to travel to Turkiye and Greece to buy cheaper medicines.
