Bulgaria participated in the Brave Warrior 2024 NATO-wide military exercise  with a C-27J Spartan is a military transport aircraft and an AS 532 Cougar helicopter, the press centre of the Ministry of Defence said. 

The exesrise focused on neutralizing insurgents, evacuating civilians and countering unmanned aerial vehicles. It involved formations from several EU member states and partner nations. The main goal of the exercise was to work out the interaction between different types of armed forces and increase the interoperability of the participating formations.

Bulgaria participated in the exercise with a C-27J Spartan is a military transport aircraft and an AS 532 Cougar helicopter, a team from the Joint Special Operations Command and military personnel with medical equipment and equipment from the Military Medical Academy.

Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov attended the high-ranking guest day of the exercise in Hungary, which took place on the last day of the Chief of Defence level EU Military Committee Session.

Admiral Eftimov noted the excellent performance of the Bulgarian formations in the exercise and accepted congratulations from his colleagues, chiefs of defence of EU member states, for the demonstrated capabilities and the successful certification.

Bulgaria proposed a project for monitoring the earth's surface using nanosatellite technologies in the interest of the military missions and operations of the European Union, Admiral Eftimov said on Tuesday during the meeting of the Military Committee.
