Prosecutor General Nominee Sarafov Plans to Implement Measures to Prevent Traffic Accidents

Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov, who was nominated for permanently taking over the post by members of the Supreme Judicial Council, plans to implement working measures for the prevention of traffic injuries and the limitation of victims of road accidents. Sarafov is the sole candidate for the position. 

The measures were discussed at a a meeting held between the management of the prosecution institution and relatives of those injured and killed in serious traffic accidents and representatives of the Angels on the Road Association, as well as lawyer Lyudmil Rangelov, the prosecution service said. 

Sarafov, said that criminal fatal road accidents are the main focus of the work of the prosecution service. He noted that the aim is to achieve justice in such cases, as far as the law permits, and "with justice will come general prevention". 

Faster completion of expert examinations, which are key to cases of fatal road accidents, as well as pre-trial proceedings and the need for legislative amendments to solve the acute problem of the lack of experts, were also discussed.
