Bulgaria’s caretaker Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov conferred with Palestine’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed Mustafa at the United Nations headquarters on Sunday, the first day of his visit to New York, Kondov’s Ministry said.

Kondov said that Bulgaria is following the developments in the Middle East with deep concern and will continue to support the international community’s efforts to de-escalate the Israel-Hamas conflict, bring about a ceasefire, release the hostages held in Gaza, and establish a lasting and just peace in the region.

At the end of the first day of his visit, together with caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, Kondov attended an event held at the Consulate General in New York on the occasion of Bulgaria’s Independence Day, September 22.

Kondov is paying a visit to New York on September 22-27. He is on a delegation to the opening of the General Debate of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
