Bulgaria to Host International Telecommunication Union's Cybersecurity Forum for Fifth Time

Bulgaria will host the International Telecommunication Union's (ITU) Cybersecurity Forum for the fifth time due to its active role in the Union's activities, it transpired following a Tuesday meeting between Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Dimitar Nedyalkov and ITU Deputy Secretary General Tomas Lamanauskas. Lamanauskas is on an official visit to Sofia to participate in a regional forum of European ITU members.

The ITU Cybersecurity Forum will bring together leading cybersecurity experts in Sofia between November 26 and 29. The event will discuss process management related to cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection.

Deputy Minister Nedyalkov recalled that Bulgaria is one of the oldest members of the ITU and will continue to support all efforts for the organization’s transformation. He reaffirmed his ministry's commitment to ITU activities and policies for developing the technology sector.

Lamanauskas stressed that Bulgaria's voice is important both in the preparation of the organization's documents and in the process of their implementation.
