site.btaPresident Radev Urges All-Out Effort in Support of People in Fire-Hit Araes
Speaking from the fire-ravaged Bolyarovo Municipality on Saturday, President Rumen Radev said it was essential to contain all fire outbreaks and to have all state institutions fully mobilized in support of people in the affected regions. He arrived in Bolyarovo Municipality earlier in the day to meet with the local authorities and check on the situation in the wake of devastating fires.
Radev thanked firefighters, servicepersons, forest wardens, volunteers and the local authorities for preventing loss of life.
Asked about the institutions' response to the disaster, the President said now was the time to act rather than analyse things. "Of course, there is room for improvement in certain aspects," he added. Radev said Bolyarovo was an example of how an all-out concerted effort of the state institutions can deal with the worst disaster; the question is how much time it takes to do this.
