A red alert, the highest of three alert levels, has been issued for dangerously hot weather across Bulgaria for Wednesday and Thursday, July 17-18, as the heatwave plaguing the country continues, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology says on its website.
Temperatures are forecast to reach between 38 C and 43 C on both days. July 17 is expected to go on record as the hottest day of the year in Bulgaria.
