site.btaNew Passenger Cars to Be Presented at Sofia Central Railway Station on Friday
Modern passenger cars purchased from Germany will be presented to the public at Sofia Central Railway Station on Friday shortly after midday, the Ministry of Transport and Communications reported. The event will be attended by the caretaker Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Gvozdeykov and Germany's Ambassador to Bulgaria Irene Maria Plank.
Gvozdeykov will be among the first passengers on the passenger cars to travel the route between Sofia and Burgas, on the Black Sea, on Saturday. The journey should take just under six hours, between 6.15 a.m. and 12.10 p.m., the shortest time to cover this route by train until this point.
The composition will be made up of four air-conditioned salon-type carriages and one carriage for the transport of persons with reduced mobility. It will run every day until the end of the summer season.
