site.btaGovernment Approves Memorandum of Understanding with Ukrainian Justice Ministry

The Council of Ministers adopted a decision approving a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine without further approval.

With the Memorandum, the two ministries intend to deepen bilateral relations in the legal field, including in connection with the preparation of legislative acts, the reform of the judicial system, the training of civil servants from the two ministries and the implementation of mutual legal assistance in civil and criminal cases in accordance with the applicable legislation of the two countries, as well as their efforts to affirm their shared European values.

The development of relations between the two ministries will also play an important role in the preparation of Ukraine for joining the European Union, as the experience of the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice will facilitate the process of synchronizing Ukrainian legislation with European standards established at the Union level.
