Mountain hiking conditions are poor on Friday, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) told BTA. A thunderstorm has started in the Rhodopes, the Balkan Mountains are in fog, the MRS added. Temperatures range between 7C and 14C, up to 17C.

Mountain rescuers helped a mushroom picker who got lost in the Balkan Mountains near Troyan, a woman was injured in the high parts of Vitosha and had to be taken down from the mountain. A search started, also in Vitosha, Thursday night for a man near the Aleko Hut, but he was later found to have gone home by himself.

The weather will be dynamic in the mountains on Friday, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology said. With moderate and strong northwesterly winds, colder air will blow in. Cumulus clouds will develop and there will be rain showers and thunderstorms. Highs: 18C at 1,200 meters and around 11C at 2,000 metres above sea level.
