site.btaBlagoevgrad Regional Police Finds Over 12 kg of Cocaine Smuggled in Car

The police officers of the Regional Police Department of Blagoevgrad detained Wednesday a 53-year-old man from Petrich, who smuggled drugs in his car, the Interior Ministry said on Thursday. Police officers found 12 packages containing cocaine in a hole in the floor under the back seats of car. The total weight of the seized drug was 12,699 grams.

The man was found to have a record of prior offences and had been convicted.

He was charged with possession of a narcotic substance in large quantities with intent to distribute. He is currently detained for up to 72 hours and the authorities are seeking a court warrant for indefinite detention.
