"By today's date, political and economic relations with Turkiye and Romania are at an exceedingly high level in terms of both import and export," Bulgarian Deputy Innovation and Growth Minister Krasimir Yakimov said, speaking at the beginning of the Balkan Business Summit that took place in Bansko on June 7 and 8..
"Turkiye and Romania are among the priority foreign business partners for the Bulgarian economy. Interactions between the Bulgarian and Turkish business, on the one hand, and Bulgarian and Romanian business, on the other," Yakimov said.
The Deputy Minister noted that at this point more than 2,200 companies with Turkish interests which have created over 4,500 jobs. "Significantly, certain parts of the country almost entirely rely on Turkish investors for their livelihood," he pointed out.
Four investment projects of Turkish companies in Bulgaria aggregating some EUR 180 million were certified for 2023, and they are expected to create over 200 new jobs, the Deputy Minister said, adding that this year certification is in progress for four new projects for approximately EUR 258 million and more than 880 new jobs.
Addressing business executives from the three Balkan countries, Yakimov pointed to his Ministry's priority axes and to programmes and procedures under which companies can submit projects for financing.
