National Assembly Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov Friday convoked an extraordinary plenary sitting for later the same day. The first item on its agenda is hearing a report by an ad hoc committee of inquiry that looked into an agreement between Bulgargaz EAD and the Turkish company BOTAS signed on January 3, 2023.

The ad hoc committee was established in December 2023 after the benefit from the agreement was put to question. Its members announced on April 11 that they had finished work and found the contract to be detrimental to Bulgaria, and promised to unveil a report by the end of this week.

The report was not originally included in Parliament's agenda and on Thursday, the Socialists said that GERB were trying to cover up corruption and Vazrazhdane said they would take matters in their hands and send the report to the prosecution service. At the same time, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria announced that they have submitted a proposal for an extraordinary sitting of Parliament for the Bulgargaz-BOTAS committee report.
