The leader of GERB Boyko Borissov said that he had not proposed Daniel Mitov to become caretaker minister of foreign affairs in the caretaker cabinet. Speaking to journalists in Tutrakan on Thursday, Borissov said that Mitov had run accepting the post by him. Borissov added that he had told Mitov to accept the offer to become foreign minister.
The GERB leader said that he did not interfere in the work of the caretaker cabinet.
It is a shame for "Continue the Change" (CC) and "Democratic Bulgaria" (DB) - Mitov is one of them. And when he came to GERB, he came so he could be a bridge between the parties, Borissov said. He added that he is not interested in who will be the minister of foreign affairs in the caretaker government.
Borissov also commented on President Rumen Radev's words that a minister cannot be a deputy chairman of a political party. "I remember the bright political faces in President Radev's cabinets - Vesela Lecheva, Yavor Gechev, Yanaki Stoilov, Krum Zarkov - the whole of BSP poured into his caretaker government," Boyko Borissov said. He pointed out that the caretaker cabinets gave birth to several parties, such as "Continue the Change" and the party of Stefan Yanev - "Bulgarian Rise".
In Borissov's words, in case of a constitutional crisis, responsibility will be borne by those who made the changes in the basic law and pointed to Hristo Ivanov (DB) and Delyan Peevski (MRF). Back then they were all together, they respected and loved each other, Borissov said.
We are responsible for this Constitution. I don't see how I will support anything proposed by CC and DB anymore, the GERB leader added. Failure in judicial reform, failure in the Constitution, failure in all negotiations for a caretaker government. Failure in everything, they have nothing to show, he added.
