site.bta49th National Caricature Exhibition Opens in Sofia

49th National Caricature Exhibition opened in Sofia on April 4, and will last until April 23, at the Gallery of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA). The exhibition includes political cartoons, satirical drawings, graphic and pictorial works in the cartoon genre.

During the opening event, Dimitar Atanasov was honoured with this year's UBA Award, which was accepted by the Atanasov's son, Mario Ivanov, also a caricaturist. 
Konstantin Atanasov and Tsvetan Pavlov received the UBA Caricature Award.

The Sofia Municipality's Donyo Donev Award was presented to Maya Cholakova.

Valentin Georgiev was honoured with the Rayko Alexiev Award.

The Museum of Humor and Satire in Gabrovo Award went to Prof. Henri Kulev and includes the opportunity for the awardee to hold a solo exhibition there.

Mihail Veshim, the Editor-in-chief of Sturshel magazine, presented the award of the publication of Ivaylo Tsvetkov.
