Sofia Medical University will mark World Health Day on April 8 with an award ceremony at the Sofia Opera building. The event, honouring scientists and teachers, will be followed by a gala concert, the University press service reported.

The ceremony will be preceded by the Medical University leadership laying wreaths at the Doctor's Monument. The memorial is dedicated to the medical officers who died in the war for Bulgaria's liberation between 1877 and 1878.
