site.btaSofia to Invest BGN 176 Mln in Improving Schools, Kindergartens

Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev said here on Monday that the city's budget for building infrastructure meant for children's growth and development is more than BGN 176 million at the beginning of 2024. The budget is dedicated to the improvement of conditions in schools and kindergartens as well as the restoration and repairs of playgrounds, Terziev said on his Facebook page.

The Mayor reported that under the latest programme of the Ministry of Education and Science, 15 schools and kindergartens' projects with a total value of BGN 57.9 million have been approved. Another BGN 3.9 million will be invested in 23 Sofia schools for building new outdoor sports grounds and overall repairs.

"To these we add more than 115 million BGN planned in the capital program of the Sofia Municipality for the construction of new kindergartens, repairs of schools, nurseries and kindergartens, restoration and repairs of playgrounds in inter-block spaces and sports grounds," said Terziev.
