site.btaParliament Ratifies Social Security Agreement between Bulgaria and Albania
The National Assembly on Wednesday ratified a social security agreement between Bulgaria and Albania. The Agreement is based on the principles of equal treatment of persons, export of benefits and pensions, applicability of one legislation with regard to the insurance obligation and aggregation of periods of insurance.
The Agreement shall apply to Bulgaria in respect of legislation relating to public social insurance for sickness and maternity benefits; benefits for accidents at work and occupational diseases; retirement pensions; pensions for disability due to general sickness; pensions for disability due to accidents at work and occupational diseases; survivor's pensions calculated from each of the above types.
The Agreement for Albania applies to all legislation relating to the compulsory social security scheme: sickness benefits for employees; maternity benefits for employed and self-employed persons as well as for employers; accident and occupational disease benefits; old-age, disability and survivors' pensions for employed and self-employed persons as well as for employers.
