The weather in the mountains is dynamic, with fog or cloud in some places, the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) told BTA. Hiking at higher elevations is not recommended.

Mountain rescuers advise hikers to follow winter markings and warn against entering avalanche danger zones.

The conditions for winter sports in the resorts are favourable. The slopes have been cleared, and the facilities are operational, MRS said.

Considerable cloud cover is expected in the mountains. There will be light snow in some places and rain showers at around 1,000 m, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology said. Up to moderate northwesterly wind. Highs: around 1C at 1,200 m, around minus 5C at 2,000 m.
