site.btaParliament Doubles Number of Rounds for Licensed Self-Defence Firearms

Bulgaria's Parliament on Wednesday passed conclusively amendments to the Weapons, Ammunition, Explosives and Pyrotechnic Articles Act increasing from 50 to 100 rounds the ammunition for pistols and revolvers of a barrel length not exceeding 30 cm that their licensed owners can keep and store.

MPs voted that within a month before the expiration of the firearms licence, the person should submit an application either in writing or electronically to renew it.

Parliament also approved simpler procedures for the import of defence-related products and dual-use items for the Defence Ministry and the Interior Ministry. Within one month of the delivery, the ministries should notify the Minister of Economy about the acquired products, MPs voted in the Defence-Related Products and Dual-Use Items and Technologies Export Control Act.
