Having met with the new Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz in Brussels Monday, Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Mariya Gabriel wrote on Facebook page that Bulgaria stands in solidarity with Israel and is awaiting the release of all hostages by Hamas. "We stand in solidarity with Israel and await the release of all hostages". Maximum efforts are necessary to prevent escalation in the region, she added.

Gabriel congratulated Minister Katz on taking office and wished him success in his responsible mission at this difficult time for Israel.

Mariya Gabriel is in Brussels, where she is participating in the Foreign Affairs Council with the ministers of the EU member states.
