site.btaDefence Minister Meets with French Ambassador

Defence Minister Todor Tagarev held a meeting with Joel Meyer, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in Bulgaria, and discussed bilateral relations in the field of defence.

A main focus during the meeting was the strategic role of the Black Sea region in the European security architecture and, in this regard, measures to increase security in the Black Sea were discussed. Topics also included the various coalitions for providing support to Ukraine within the framework of the Ramstein format and specifically the French proposal for an artillery coalition, with which Ambassador Meyer introduced Minister Tagarev.

The two sides discussed issues related to cyber security and the priorities for the modernization of the Bulgarian Army, laid down in the Defense Ministry's investment programme until 2032, adopted by the Council of Ministers.
