On this date in Bulgarian history:

1880: The lighthouse on Cape Emine is unveiled.

1933: The Mountain Rescue Service is set up in Sofia.

1944: Bourgas Naval Base is established.

1969: Official relations are established with San Marino at the level of consulates general. Promoted to embassy level on September 11, 2000. 

2008: A power line is unveiled between Chervena Mogila in Bulgaria and Dubrovo in Macedonia. First direct 400 KV link between the two power grids; part of Pan-European Corridor VIII.
