site.btaBulgaria and Ukraine to Advance Cooperation in Environmental Protection
The Government on Tuesday approved a draft Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of environmental protection between the Bulgarian Ministry of Environment and Water of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ukrainian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources and authorized the Environment Minister to sign it.
The Memorandum expresses the political will of the two countries to cooperate on the urgent need to find cost-effective and sustainable solutions and to coordinate joint activities between Bulgaria and Ukraine to address environmental challenges. The two countries commit to work together bilaterally, regionally and globally, taking into account the cross-border nature of environmental challenges. Bulgaria and Ukraine will also cooperate to implement the Sustainable Development Goals set out in the UN General Assembly Resolution on Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The Memorandum is expected to be signed during a bilateral meeting between the Bulgarian and Ukrainian Ministers on December 9during the COP 28 Climate Change Conference in the UAE.
