In a statement on behalf of the There is Such a People (TISP) parliamentary group, TISP Floor Leader Toshko Yordanov objected to the fact that Kiril Petkov, head of the European Union Committee in the National Assembly, did not include representatives of the TISP group in the delegation for the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for Union Affairs (COSAC) meeting which will be held between November 26 and 28 in Madrid.
Petkov stated that this was his personal decision, and he that was going to rotate the opposition parties, Yordanov said.
Yordanov argued that the inclusion of opposition parties in the European process is a basic requirement of the European Union and is significantly encouraged, including on a quota basis.
Isolation of opposition MPs from international activities through administrative procedures is a gross violation of the right to representation of a significant part of Bulgarian society, Yordanov stressed.
