At its meeting on Wednesday, the Prosecutors Chamber of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) is scheduled to revisit the subject of appointing Judge Daniela Taleva as an investigating prosecutor for the prosecutor general, according to an agenda published on the SJC website.
Three months ago, the Chamber determined that it was unable to adopt a decision because of a discrepancy between the Criminal Procedure Code and the Judicial System Act. The discrepancy has since been addressed by legislative amendments.
On July 7, Taleva, who is a judge at the Sofia City Court, was selected by the drawing of lots from among 22 judges approved for the position under the new legal procedure.
