1927: Kaval Men's Choir established in Sofia by conductor Boyan Sokolov.
1932: Weather station opens on Moussala Peak (the Balkans' highest elevation, 2,925.4 m). Built in connection with International Geophysical Year on money raised from trekkers countrywide.
1967: Philip Koutev Secondary School of Music established in Kotel (Southeastern Bulgaria).
1992: Bulgarian Defence Minister Alexander Staliiski decrees establishment of 61st Mechanized Brigade based in Karlovo (Central Bulgaria) (61st Stryama Mechanized Brigade since November 19, 1998).
2000: Bulgarian National Television launches news broadcasts in Turkish.
2003: Bank Consolidation Company and Hungary's OTP Bank announce completion of DSK Bank's privatization at cost of EUR 311.1 million.
