Meeting on Thursday, Bulgaria's Council of Ministers adopted a report and a reporting table to the National Reform Programme (NRP) for 2023. The documents contain new and updated measures in response to a Recommendation of the Council of the European Union of May 24, 2023, which addresses three specific recommendations to Bulgaria, the Government Information Service said.

The NRP commitments are complemented by nine new measures and one updated measure in the areas of tax policy, support for vulnerable households, digital and green transition.

Under one of the measures, vulnerable families are to be compensated for the high level of inflation as a result of the rise in the prices of oil, gas and electricity due to Russia's military aggression in Ukraine, so as to be able to cope with increased energy consumption costs.

There are plans to set up a training centre as an element of the national cybersecurity system and an improvement of the capacity for response to computer security incidents.

The report on the implementation of individual specific recommendations will be presented to the European Commission in April 2024 with the next update of the National Reform Programme and the Convergence Programme of Bulgaria (2024 - 2027).
