site.btaFestival Gathers Fish Soup Lovers Near Danube

 "Fish Fest" was organized Saturday in the northern village of Brashlen, located about a kilometre from the Danube River. The programme includes competitions, a graphics plein-air workshop and an exhibition of folk costumes, village Mayora Pavlinka Yordanova told BTA. 

Those who wish can take part in competitions for the most delicious fish soup and roasted fish, for the fastest fish cleaning and the best homemade rakia. 

"We expect about 1,000 guests at the festival. On this occasion, we will prepare Danube fish soup in three cauldrons so that we can treat the visitors. We will also fry about 150 kg of turbot," Yordanova said. 

Participants in the graphic art workshop will paint snapshots of the festival. There will be a fashion show of folk costumes from the region, as well as a music programme with singers and dance groups.
