site.btaMinibus with Migrants Crashes on Trakia Motorway near Tsalapitsa

A minibus with migrants crashed early Wednesday morning on the Trakia motorway near Tsalapitsa. 

Around 4:00 am, a police patrol signalled a minibus to stop at the 118th kilometre of the Trakia motorway in the direction of Sofia. The driver disobeyed, tried to escape and the van crashed into a signpost, the Plovdiv Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry  said. 

Twenty-seven people who identified themselves as Afghan nationals were found in the vehicle.

The driver is a Bulgarian with a criminal record. He and three of the migrants were taken to a hospital for examinations.
